Hugo Marques

Founder of Fishtag Environmental Constulting and Partner, Technical Director,  Technical Consultant and representative for South America at Oregon RFID

Hugo Marques is a biologist with MSc in Aquaculture (Aquatic Biology) and PhD in Biological Sciences (Zoology) from São Paulo State University (UNESP). Has been working since 2008 with fish ecology and conservation, fisheries management, and ecological data analysis, focusing on the use of RFID HDX for fish monitoring.

Founder of Oregon RFID and has over 20 years of experience with low frequency RFID technology

Lluís Tort

Researcher in fish physiology and specialist in fish stress and immune and endocrine responses and their impact on fish health.

One of the world’s experts on fish health and welfare, member of the European Reference Centre for Aquatic Animal Welfare. Leader of an international research group with 300 publications and reference books on immunity and stress in fish.

Ignasi Arranz

Postdoctoral researcher at the King Juan Carlos University (Programa de Ayuda de Atracción del Talento de la Comunidad de Madrid).

Multidisciplinary research covering a wide range of biogeographical, ecological, and evolutionary topics including body size, stable isotope analyses, species coexistence, and trophic cascades to gather a holistic understanding of biodiversity and ecosystem functioning in freshwaters.

Víctor Gallego

Postdoctoral Researcher in the area of Aquatic Ecosystems and Biodiversity at the Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain).

His work initially focused on the study of the reproductive biology of endangered fish, attempting to establish a cryobank for threatened aquatic species (from tiny fish to large sharks). Today, his work also focuses on the study of the biology and ecology of aquatic animals, in both freshwater and marine environments

Frederic Casals

Collaborating Professor in the Department of Animal Sciences at the University of Lleida and Associate Researcher of CTFC.

PhD in Biology from the University of Barcelona (UB). He has dedicated to research on the distribution and evolution of inland water fish communities; the ecology of invasive aquatic species and the restoration of aquatic ecosystems. He is responsible for the LIFE INVASAQUA project on behalf of the Iberian Society of Ichthyology (SIBIC), one of the 9 partners in the project, of which he is a founding member and member of its Board of Directors.
